An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Cuckoo I.Q., the 1941 Sid Marcus Columbia Color Rhapsody animated animation cartoon comedy short ("A Columbia Short Subject Presentation") featuring the voice of Mel Blanc. It was a spoof of the then popular radio quiz shows, where contestants would be asked for their knowledge of current events and trivia (later those quiz shows would become extremely popular on TV, until there were scandals that took them off the air for many years). This cartoon was advertised solely on the 1939 Color Rhapsody stock poster from Columbia, but it had a printed inset with the title of this cartoon and an image from it (see below). Important Added Info: Note that this is a 1939 stock poster used by theaters that showed Columbia Color Rhapsody shorts. Columbia created a stock poster for this series in 1939, and there was a blank center area in each poster. After the posters were initially printed, they would overprint a group of the posters with a title of a particular cartoon from that series, and ALSO add a single-color image from that cartoon (unusual for stock cartoon posters), and then they would print another group of the posters with a different cartoon title and image, and so on. This particular poster WAS overprinted in 1941 with the title and image from "The Cuckoo I.Q.", which was made that year. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny bits of paper loss between the middle and bottom crossfolds, with a lesser amount of wear on the other foldlines. It had pinholes in the corners and some tiny paper loss in parts of the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
