An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French Movie Poster (measures 31" x 46" [79 x 117 cm]) (Learn More) Harlem Globetrotters, the black African American exhibition basketball team who combine athleticism with theater and comedy. They started as a legitimate "regular" basketball team in 1927 (founded by Abe Saperstein, a Chicago businessman), but soon became famous for their comic antics. Over the years they have played more than 20,000 exhibition games in 118 countries. Brother Bones's whistled version of "Sweet Georgia Brown" is the team's signature song and they have appeared in a variety of media If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds and some tiny paper loss in the right of the top horizontal fold, with some darkening in that area and pretty minor wear on the other folds and in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
