An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Mary Pickford was a Canadian actress from the 1900s to the 1930s. She was one of the top silent actresses, who specialized in playing young girl roles as an adult, and she was called "America's Sweetheart", and when she married Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. in 1920, the country rejoiced (and the country mourned when they divorced in 1936!). Some of her movies include: Little Annie Rooney (in the title role), Sparrows, My Best Girl, Coquette (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role), and Tess of the Storm Country. She passed away in 1979 at the age of 87. Important Added Info: Note that this still, which is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock, was taken by New York photographer Charles E. Moody. We have talked to collectors who told us that it is widely believed that he took the absolute best photos of Mary Pickford and some other 1910s stars. In April 2022, we auctioned a different portrait of Mary Pickford by Moody and it sold for $831! Condition: very good. There is unevenness to the emulsion in the background in its outer edges (not unusual in deluxe stills of the 1910s and 1920s), but otherwise, the still is in excellent condition!
