Original Vintage Linenbacked War Poster (measures 20" x 30") (Learn More) Remember and Invest, the 1919 U.S. World War 1 (WWI) War Bond poster ("Victory Liberty Loan Woman's Liberty Loan Committee"; "Remember Argonne Hateau-Thierry St. Mihiel Belleau-Wood Cantigny Soissons Vesle...") encouraging citizens to support the post-war humanitarian efforts, and featuring James Monroe Hewlett art of Columbia being gifted a bag of coins by a kneeling man. Artist: James Monroe Hewlett Important Added Info: This poster has been professionally linenbacked. It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: good to very good. This poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. It appears to have had the following defects: there were many small tears, creases, and smudges around the edges of the poster. There were several long tears and creases that start in the upper left border and go through the standing liberty figure into the "ST" of "ST - MIHIEL" and the "BEL" of "BELLEAU - WOOD". There are similar tears and creases on the right side of the first five names. The defects were mostly corrected during the linenbacking process, but you can still see evidence of the defects when you look close up. But from any distance away, the poster looks quite nice!
