Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel Movie Poster (measures approximately 55" x 78") (Learn More) Suspicion, the 1941 Alfred Hitchcock crime film noir mystery thriller ("Each time they kissed... There was the thrill of love... The threat of murder!"; "She won your heart in 'Rebecca'! He drew your cheers in 'Philadelphia Story'. Thrill to them together in a suspense-romance directed by the man who did 'Rebecca'"; "Screen play by Samson Raphaelson, Joan Harrison, Alma Reville [Hitchcock's wife]"; "Based on the novel 'Before the Fact' by Francis Iles"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Cary Grant, Joan Fontaine (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Nigel Bruce, Dame May Whitty, Lumsden Hare, Vernon Downing, and Auriol Lee. Note that there is controversy about the ending of this movie! Many people say that Hitchcock intended the movie to end with Grant killing Fontaine, and that the studio insisted that he change it (to preserve Grant's positive public image), but others say that this is an urban legend, and that the movie was always intended to end the way it did! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this Italian two-panel poster was printed in 2 sections (designed to overlap) and when combined, the poster measures approximately 55" x 78" and is currently folded, and fits in our standard mailers. Condition: good. the poster was apparently nailed to a wall with thick nails, so there are round nail holes all around the edges of both sections of the poster (which means the nail holes enter the art at the bottom of the top section and at the top of the bottom section); there is staining, discoloration, small tears, small paper loss, and creases around the edges of both sections; there are tiny areas of paper loss, separation, and small tears along most foldlines; there is paper loss in the lower right blank border; Obviously, this poster has substantial defects, but a talented restorer could surely make most of them vanish, and since most are in the borders, it would mean the poster would look great, but would not have a lot of paint on it! But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its many defects or are willing to have them professionally restored Learn More about condition grades
