An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 9 1/4" x 13" [23 x 33 cm]) (Learn More) The Mystery Rider, the 1927 Robert J. Horner silent cowboy western starring Ted Wells (billed as "Pawnee Bill Jr."), Bruce Gordon, and Bud Osborne. Note that there is a 1928 movie of this name starring William Desmond that has nothing to do with this movie, other than having the same name, but the two are often confused. It also appears that it is quite possible that this movie was never released, which would explain why it is not in IMDb (although it can be found elsewhere on the Internet). Why would they have completed a movie and then never released it? It seems that it is because there was a real life western performer who performed as Pawnee Bill, and he sued Ted Wells, who was billed under that name in this movie, and it may be that as a result of that lawsuit the release of this movie was at first delayed and may never have happened at all! However, we have auctioned one trimmed lobby card from this movie, so we know that movie advertising for it was prepared. Important Added Info: This is the lobby card referred to in our description above, and it is the only movie adveritising from this unreleased movie that we have ever auctioned! Also note that this lobby card has been trimmed and it now measures 9 1/4" x 13" [23 x 33 cm]. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: fair.
