Artist: Silvano "Nano" Campeggi Important Added Info: Note that we have seen an image of a different Italian one-panel poster that is more colorful, and we think that it is the first release poster (but it would have been from 1952, after it won 8 Oscars, which was the date of the first Italian release). We feel pretty certain that this poster is an Italian re-release, from either the late 1950s or early 1960s. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this item (and others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from the estate of Lee Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a nationally recognized projectionist, film poster collector, and union activist who passed away earlier this year, and the net proceeds from the sale of his varied and eclectic collection will be donated to promote film studies at the Besant School of Happy Valley in Ojai, Ca. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on many parts of some foldlines. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
