An Original 1944 (from the first release of this movie in Germany) Vintage Theatrical Folded German "A0" Movie Poster (33x47; measures 33" x 47" [84 x 119 cm]) (Learn More)

Megvedtem Egy Asszonyt (literally translated to "I Protected A Woman"), the 1938 (released in the U.S. in 1939) Akos Rathonyi Hungarian romantic comedy starring Antal Pager, Maria Lazar, Bela Mihalyffi, Agi Donath, and Lajos Boray.
Artist: Hans Otto Wendt
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning (nor seen any other movie paper for it). German movie posters from the World War II era are very rare as it seems likely that most were destroyed during the huge paper shortages that occurred during that time period. The poster has a Nazi era Reichsadler "filmprufstelle zugelassen" seal in the printing near one corner which gives the date of "2 AUG 1944"! Note also that all of the sources that we can find say that this poster is promoting Megvedtem Egy Asszonyt. The German title translates to "-And Later We'll Get Divorced", which matches the romantic comedy plot of the film as does the poster art. However, the poster credits Elma Bulla who is not in Megvedtem Egy Asszonyt. She did star with Pager in the 1942 film Ferfihuseg, but that was a serious melodrama with a different German title. We suspect that the German distributor billed the wrong actress on this poster but please keep this uncertainty in mind when bidding.

Condition: very good. The poster has some fairly minor fold and border wear. It has a few tiny brown stains on the back of the part of the poster that was on the outside when it was fully folded.
