An Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #12 ("Trapped in the Turret") Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Flash Gordon, the classic 1936 Frederick Stephani science fiction (sci-fi) serial ("The first great serial spectacle!"; "The Gigantic Serial Spectacle! 13 Chapters of Strange World Adventures"; "Syndicated by King Features"; "From Alex Raymond's famous newspaper comic strip"; "13 Thrilling Chapters!") starring Buster Crabbe (in the title role "as Flash Gordon"; the 1932 Olympic swimming champion who is most famous for this role and as "Buck Rogers" in the Universal serials), Jean Rogers ("as Dale Arden"), Charles Middleton ("as Emperor Ming" [Ming the Merciless]), Priscilla Lawson ("as Aura"), Frank Shannon ("as Dr. Zarkov"), Jack 'Tiny' Lipson (billed as "John Lipson as Vultan"), Richard Alexander ("as Prince Barin"), James Pierce, Duke Ford Jr., Theodore Lorch, and Ray 'Crash' Corrigan (as the man in the really fake ape "Orangopoid" suit!). Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he bought a "gorilla suit". In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit! Also note that this classic science fiction serial was also released in 1936, in a feature version (approximately 73 minutes, and condensed from all the separate chapters joined together). Universal created posters and lobby cards for all the chapters of the serial version, and also created additional posters and a set of lobby cards for the feature version. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: NOTE: Most lobby cards from before 1940 (and some from after that date) did not have individual lobby card numbers like later lobby cards (those printed after the advent of NSS in 1940) did. So we have arbitrarily assigned numbers to unnumbered lobby cards, only when we sell more than one from a set, so that there is a convenient way to tell different scenes apart. (Note that we do not use #1, because this is commonly used to signify the title card). The exception to this is sets of cards that did not have title cards. Condition: fine. There is a tiny blue area at the bottom of the right blank border that looks to be a very minor printing defect. Otherwise, the card is in really remarkable condition, and it looks as though it has just been printed. Note that this lobby card has no tape whatsoever on the front or back, and has never had any restoration of any kind! Learn More about condition grades
