Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Jesse James At Bay, the 1941 Joseph Kane outlaw cowboy western ("Original story by Harrison Jacobs") starring Roy Rogers (in the title role as Jesse James!), George 'Gabby' Hayes, Sally Payne, Gale Storm, Pierre Watkin, and Hal Taliaferro. Note that the horse Roy Rogers rode in the movie was his regular companion, Trigger, but because this was not a "Roy Rogers" movie, he could not be billed! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This poster has been professionally linenbacked. It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was NOT well restored. You can see signs of the restoration from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). fair to good. The poster had many tears and areas of paper loss across most of the foldlines including (sadly) the second from top horizontal foldline which runs through Rogers' face. There was paper loss in Rogers' forehead and from the edge of his eye across his hair, but not in the eye itself. Whoever restored the poster did only a mediocre job of repairing the damaged foldlines, and the restoration is clearly noticeable. If I owned the poster, I would surely have it re-restored. It would end up looking great, but it would require a good amount of paint restoration (but, as this is possibly the only existing copy of this wonderful poster, having this copy may be the only way to own it!).
