An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded British Quad Movie Poster (BQ; Quad Crown; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Shatranj Ke Khilari (released in English-speaking countries as "The Chess Players"), the 1977 (released in the U.S. in 1978) Satyajit Ray Indian historical comedy melodrama ("Back from the West-End"; "Satyajit Ray's outstandingly beautiful film"; "From the story by Premchand"; set during the British colonial era in India, about two Indian noblemen who are so obsessed with playing chess that they fail to notice the British taking over their country, an allegory about real-life events)) starring Sanjeev Kumar, Saeed Jaffrey, David Abraham, Tom Alter, and Richard Attenborough. This was a major English cinema that had its own posters created and printed for movies they were showing (these were made during the first English showing of those movies).
