While still in continuous first release and after it won 5 Academy Awards in 1965, new one-sheets were printed and that top tagline was replaced with "Winner of 5 Academy Awards Including The 'Best Picture Of Year'". The poster offered here is the pre-Awards one-sheet, which is much more desired by collectors. Some pre-awards one-sheets credit Todd-AO (below the guitar and above "Color by Deluxe"), and others do not. The ones that do not were created for theaters that could not show the 70mm Todd-AO version. This auction is for the pre-awards one-sheet WITH the Todd-AO credit! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that the excess linen on the left and right are slightly rippled from when it was removed from a stretcher, but it will not show when the poster is framed Learn More about condition grades
