An Unfolded Travel Poster (measures 25" x 40" [64 x 102 cm]) (Learn More)

TWA: Paris, the 1960s airplane airline aviation travel poster promoting tourism to Paris, France aboard TWA (Trans World Airlines) and featuring art of the Eiffel Tower surrounded by fireworks by David Klein. Note that there are three different versions of this poster, the first one is from 1962, and the others from later in the 1960s (there is one from 1967 that has a tagline, "Up, Up and Away" in the lower right, but the ad agency TWA used did not get the rights to that lyric from the Fifth Dimension song, and they were sued!).
Artist: David Klein
Important Added Info: Note that the "Up Up and Away TWA" tagline was first used in 1967 and lasted about a year. "Up, Up and Away" was pop song most famously sung by the Fifth Dimension, and an advertising agency came up with the idea of using it to promote TWA. It was a hit but there was a lawsuit over the use of the song, and when that was settled, TWA had switched advertising agencies.

Condition: good to very good. There are light brown stains scattered throughout the poster from exposure to moisture (mostly only noticeable in the light background at upper left and right and across the bottom). There is a pin hole in each corner and there are a few tiny tears around the edges of the poster. There is an approximately 3" diagonal crease in the upper right corner and there are a few minor creases and scuff marks scattered throughout the poster (mostly around the edges). The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition and if one chose to have the poster restored the stains, which aren't very noticeable or distracting, could easily be removed through chemical means and the poster would look fantastic!
