An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded 'Stock' Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/4" x 30" [34 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Paramount, the circa 1950s stock Australian daybill poster created by Paramount for use by theaters showing their movies in Australia. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank area. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached, or with an overprinted snipe area. Artist: Richardson Studio Condition: good to very good. There is some tattering along the foldlines and around the edges of the poster and there are minor creases scattered throughout the poster.
