Note that fantasy artist H.R. Giger did the wonderful art that was used to create the alien and the alien planet, but his art was not used on any of the regular posters, only on special prints created after the movie became a hit! This was a company that made French movie posters at the time of many movies' first release in the 1970s and 1980s, and they were made from the same printing plates as the theater posters, and the only difference is a CinePoster logo in the bottom right corner. This IS an original poster from 1980s, but it was made to be sold in French stores, and was NOT used in French movie theaters.
UPDATED 11/29/2013: We have updated the Important Added Info section. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was folded across the middle and it had many creases and scuffs in the middle left in the solid black area. It had some creases around the edges, with small tears in the bottom border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
