An Original Vintage Theatrical One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Wedding Worries, the 1941 Edward L. Cahn Our Gang juvenile marriage comedy short (in this entry, Darla's widowed father is getting remarried, and the Our Gang kids assume she will be a wicked stepmother to Darla, so they try to break up the wedding ceremony, including by playing the radio loud, and also by filling the room with laughing gas; when they are caught, they are spanked by the wedding guests, in assembly line fashion!) starring Robert 'Bobby' Blake, Darla Hood, Billy 'Froggy' Laughlin, George 'Spanky' McFarland, and Billie 'Buckwheat' Thomas. Note that this was the final Our Gang appearance for Darla Hood. She had been in the shorts for five years, having started at age 5. She only had two more film appearances, and she only had a few minor appearances on TV and in movies in later years. Also note that Spanky McFarland had started in Our Gang films in 1932 when he was just 4 years old. By 1941, when he was 13, he was tiring of appearing in these movies, but he was so popular that he was still featured on all the posters, even though he often did not have a lead role in the particular short. The next year, he retired from the Our Gang movies, and soon after, he completely retired from movies. Meanwhile, Robert Blake had been in Our Gang shorts since 1939 (when he was 6), under his birth name of Mickey Gubitosi (he was called "Mickey" in the shorts). By 1941, he was 8, and being groomed to be the new lead in the Our Gang shorts (replacing the "aging" Spanky), and he would continue as a child actor (switching to a lead role as "Little Beaver" in the Red Ryder series of movies), and of course, he would grow up to be a major adult star in movies like "In Cold Blood", and in TV shows! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster has become somewhat brittle with age and there is tattering along the foldlines and edges that has been repaired with tape from the back (mostly clear tape along the foldlines but there are large pieces of brown tape on the back along the bottom edge).
