The French Connection, the classic 1971 William Friedkin (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) New York City police crime thriller ("Doyle is bad news - but a good cop."; "The time is just right for an out and out thriller like this."; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Gene Hackman (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle), Fernando Rey, Roy Scheider (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Tony Lo Bianco, Marcel Bozzuffi, Eddie Egan (the real life cop on whose career this movie was loosely based, and he played a cameo role in the movie), and Jose Fernandez

Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).

very good. The poster had tiny holes at the crossfolds and wear along the foldlines. The poster was well restored an the restoration is only noticeable on close inspection.
