The First Tarzan Picture in 3 Years!"; "Based upon the characters created by Edgar Rice Burroughs") starring Johnny Weissmuller (in the title role as Tarzan), Maureen O'Sullivan (as Jane), Johnny Sheffield (billed as "John Sheffield"; as "Boy"), Ian Hunter, Henry Stephenson, Frieda Inescort, Henry Wilcoxon, Laraine Day, Morton Lowry, Gavin Muir, and Cheetah (the chimpanzee). Note that in the books, Tarzan and Jane were married, and there was nothing wrong with them having a son. But in the movies, the producers feared that their son would be considered "illegitimate", so they had him "found" in the jungle (and he was referred to as "Tarzan Jr." in some of the early advertising, but that was dropped, perhaps because it made it obvious he was really Weissmuller's son!). Also, the movie originally ended with Jane dying, because Maureen O'Sullivan didn't want to make anymore Tarzan movies. But fans protested mightily, and the ending was quickly changed so that she survived, and Maureen O'Sullivan was convinced to appear in two more Tarzan movies! Important Added Info: Note that these Italian photobustas measure 19" x 26 1/2" and are folded. Note that these posters were folded at one time but have been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. 6" diagonal crease in the upper right corner of one poster as well as minor creases and scuffs throughout both posters (more so along the foldline); several tack holes around the edges of both posters as well as some 1/2" and smaller tears along the bottom edge of one poster Learn More about condition grades
