An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

King of the Pecos, the 1936 Joseph Kane Texas cowboy western ("Law and Order comes to the Lone Star State!") starring John Wayne, Muriel Evans, Cy Kendall, Jack Rube Clifford, Arthur Aylesworth, Herbert Heywood, Yakima Canutt, and Tex Palmer
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that John Wayne had his first chance at stardom in 1930 with "The Big Trail", and when that was not successful, he spent a few years in minor roles, and then became a major B-western star, and stayed that way until 1939, when he made "Stagecoach" and became a major star. At that point, all of his mid 1930s B-westerns were re-released, and no doubt that adds to the rarity of original lobby cards from those movies (many times, original movie paper from movies with quick re-releases is scarce, and B-western lobby cards from the mid 1930s were always scarce anyway, because few theaters likely ordered them). Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: fair. The card has an unfortunate scratch that runs from the man's chest at left through Wayne's nose and eye and into his hat. There are also water stains in the top of the card and pinholes in the corners. Someone performed some touch up to the green areas in the scratch in the man's coat and in the blue in Wayne's hat (see our image). Obviously, this great card can be properly restored, but bear all of the above in mind before bidding on it.
