Date Sold 7/9/2013Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 155 pages) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious, the classic 1946 Alfred Hitchcock World War II (WWII) Nazis-in-South-America romantic love triangle crime film noir ("Fateful fascination! Bold intrigue!"; "Notorious woman of affairs... Adventurous man of the world!"; "Unceasing excitement... Relentless suspense!"; "Adventurous Man! Notorious Woman! - the boldest deception two lovers ever dared!"; "Deep their love! Great the risk!"; "Written by Ben Hecht"; one of Hitchcock's absolute best movies; the plot is wildly implausible, but the quality of the acting of the entire cast and the great direction are so good that you don't care!) starring Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman, Claude Rains (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Louis Calhern, Leopoldine Konstantin (billed as "Madame Leopoldine Konstantin", in a wonderful sinister performance as Claude Rains' mother!), E.A. Krumschmidt, Lenore Ulric, and Reinhold Schunzel NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this script is the revised final draft from October 10, 1945. Also note that the writer is not credited on this but that the movie credits Ben Hecht. Also note that the script has "PART I" on the cover page, but the script includes all of the movie, so we think it is likely that originally only part of the script was distributed, and then when the rest was finished, the scripts were opened up (they are attached with three clips on the spine), and the rest of the script was likely added at that time (but you can't see any sign of the pages being added, if that in fact is what happened). There is "Cary Grant" written on the top right of the cover, which COULD mean that this script was used by Grant, or it could have been put there for another purpose, and we don't have a way of determining which it is! Condition: good. Some of the pages in the last 20 pages of the script have brown water stains scattered in the right half (it looks like someone spilled coffee on that part of the script while it lay open), but the stains do not prevent you from reading what is there, and the pages are not stuck together. Other than the above, the script is in pretty good condition! Learn More about condition grades
