Date Sold 11/26/2023 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 63 REPRODUCTION photos of lobby cards from Walt Disney movies. The Walt Disney Company is a television, movie, radio, publishing and theme park mega-company founded by Walt and Roy Disney in 1923. Of course, it was Mickey Mouse that launched the company on the road to fame and fortune, and all the other well known Disney cartoon characters quickly followed, including Donald Duck and Goofy. In 1937, they made their first full-length animated feature, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", and later, they opened Disneyland, and have continued to be the leading producer of animation films there is. The company has changed named several times, being founded as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, and in 1938 changing to Walt Disney Productions. In 1986, it was renamed to The Walt Disney Company. The company is the largest mass media company in the world, and operates several of its theme parks globally including Walt Disney World and Disneyland. In recent years, it merged with Pixar and also purchased the Star Wars empire from George Lucas. Measurements: 11" x 14"Note that these come to us from the estate of a man who was a teacher for many decades. He collected many lower priced horror/sci-fi lobby cards of the 1950s and 1960s, but he had these reproductions made, likely within the last decade. We imagine that he knew he could not afford the very top titles, so he likely found a collector who had them (and also some Disney titles that he personally loved, which are the ones in this lot) and then he made scans of those cards, and likely had one of his students "clean up" and brighten the images, and then he had these reproductions made. Because he only had one of each in his estate, we think it is incredibly likely he only had one set of each created, but unfortunately, he is no longer available to answer questions, so that remains a guess. This is a great opportunity to purchase nice color full size reproductions of classic lobby cards, printed on a good quality paper, but please do not bid on these unless you can accept the uncertainty as to their origin.
