A 1990 Re-Release Theatrical Unfolded East German "A1" Movie Poster (measures 22 1/2" x 32" [57 x 81 cm]) (Learn More) Spur Der Steine (released in the U.S. as "Traces of Stones" and released in other English-speaking countries as "The Trace of Stones"), the 1966 Frank Beyer East German romantic melodrama starring Manfred Krug, Krystyna Stypulkowska, Jutta Hoffmann, Eberhard Esche, and Johannes Wieke. Note that this film was highly controversial when it was screened in a few East German cities in 1966, and audience members shouted denunciations during the shows. It is believed that these protests were secretly organized by the Ministry of Culture, and they resulted in the film disappearing from theaters within three days. The film finally had a wide release after the Revolutions of 1989 and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
