Foster"; about a husband and wife who manage an apartment building, and they meet an orphan boy who they want to adopt) starring Charlie Ruggles, Mary Boland, Donald O'Connor (14 years old, in his 10th movie!), Billy Lee, Joyce Matthews, and John Hartley NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Richardson Studio Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this Australian daybill, and that was 19 years ago! Note that this is one of an amazing collection of 62 linenbacked Australian daybills that all have great art from Richardson Studio (or John Richardson, before he became "Richardson Studio"!), which many collectors feel have the best art and design of any Australian daybills, and are highly sought after by collectors. These were accumulated by a very dedicated collector over many years, and they are now being all offered at once (in 62 separate auctions), so this is a wonderful opportunity to obtain one or many of these daybills, many of which rarely are offered for sale or at auction. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had pretty minor wear on the folds. It had a long uneven tear starting in the left border near the bottom of the image and extending through the man's leg where there was small paper loss, and down to the right border above the credits. It had tears in the upper right, with tiny paper loss in the man's image below the title. There were tears and paper loss at the right end of the title and stains in the top blank border. It had some small paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
