An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Swedish Movie Poster (measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/2") (Learn More) Alan Ladd, the 1940s Swedish stock poster created by Paramount Pictures for use by Swedish theaters showing their 1940s Alan Ladd movies. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank area at the bottom. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they were sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached, or with an overprinted snipe area.
