An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) romantic love triangle crime murder mystery detective suspense thriller ("...is that you, darling?"; "Written by Frederick Knott who wrote the International Stage Success"; "If a woman answers... hang on for dear life!"; "Is this the man she was waiting for... or the man who was waiting for her?"; "Perfect 3 Dimension in the Hitchcock manner!") starring Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), John Williams, and Anthony Dawson. Note that, although this movie was filmed in 3-D, none of the original posters mention it at all (there is an explanation in the pressbook that because they know many theaters will not show it in 3-D, "the ads have been designed so that the 3D copy may be eliminated" [and obviously, this is why they did not put 3-D on the posters]). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. There is a 2 1/2" tear in the middle of the bottom edge of the poster that has been repaired with an approximately 3" x 6" piece of brown string reinforced paper tape from the back and there is a similar-sized tape repair on the back of the left of the horizontal fold and top of the vertical fold that both appear to be there mostly for reinforcement purposes. There is a slightly diagonal tape stain at top center through the second "C" in "HITCHCOCK'S". There is a small area of pencil writing in the right of the bottom edge of the poster. There are small diagonal creases around the crossfold at center and there are some scuff marks scattered throughout the poster (mostly in the black background right of center). There is some paper loss in the upper right blank corner and there are a few pairs of staple holes and 1" and smaller tears scattered around the edges of the poster. The poster is otherwise in generally nice condition and I imagine most collectors would be quite happy to display this classic Hitchcock poster as it is, but of course if one chose to have it restored the poster would look fantastic!
