An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Reb Russell was a cowboy western actor from 1932 to 1935. Reb Russell had been an All-American running back and fullback in football for both Nebraska and Northwestern, and when he graduated in 1930, he received a few small parts at Fox Films, but did not show much promise, but in 1934, he signed a contract with Willis Kent, an independent producer, and he starred in nine low budget westerns in 1934 and 1935. But he was not the best actor, and the movies were very low budget, and he left Hollywood to tour with circuses for the rest of the 1930s, and then he retired back to Coffeyville, Kansas, where he had grown up, and he raised a family and bred livestock, passing away in 1978! Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Reb Russell! Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1980s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity. Also note that this still was printed on Kodak paper, but we believe it to surely be an original still. Sometimes, studios would run out of stills and have extras printed on Kodak stock.
