An Original Vintage Theatrical German 9" x 11 1/2" [23 x 29 cm] Newsreel Still (Learn More)

UFA Tonwoche (literally translates to "UFA Sound Week") was a German propaganda weekly newsreel series from 1930 to 1940. In March 1927, Alfred Hugenberg purchased UFA and transferred ownership of it to the Nazi Party in 1933. As a result, the newsreel fostered support of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party. In 1940 the four major German newsreel programs (UFA Tonwoche, Tobis-Wochenschau, Deulig-Wochenschau, and Twentieth Century Fox) were consolidated into the Die Deutsche Wochenschau newsreel series.
Important Added Info: Note that this German still measures 9" x 11 1/2" [23 x 29 cm]. It was created for a German newsreel that was produced weekly. We imagine these were sent to German theaters to either get them to show these newsreels, or just as likely, to put in their lobby so that patrons would know what was in the current newsreel. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: good to very good. The still has an embossed stamp with the Nazi eagle and swastika at upper right. Most German movie paper from this time had this either embossed or printed on it, and it is definitely not any kind of defect. There are pinholes and stained tack holes around the edges.
