An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) George Bernard Shaw's The Devil's Disciple, the 1959 Guy Hamilton English/U.S. Revolutionary War adventure comedy ("One Devil of a Motion Picture!"; "Based on the play by Bernard Shaw By Arrangement with the Estate of Gabriel Pascal") starring Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Laurence Olivier, Janette Scott, Eva LeGallienne, Harry Andrews, Basil Sydney, George Rose, Neil McCallum, Mervyn Johns, and David Horne. Note that Janette Scott is best remembered for her starring role in "Day of the Triffids" in 1963, which was immortalized in the lyrics of the song from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" that says "And I really got hot When I saw Janette Scott fight a triffid that spits poison and kills." She divorced her first husband and married Mel Torme in 1966, which pretty much ended her career, as she quickly had two children. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this title card comes from a remarkable collection of 18 Laurence Olivier title cards! They were assembled over a period of decades by a dedicated collector. On December 9th we auctioned scene cards from this same collection, but now we are auctioning the title cards, which are far more rare (and most of them are in exceptional condition). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase any or all of these ultra-rare title cards! Condition: very good. There are some tiny staple holes near the middle of the right border.
