She was married to Tony Curtis and is the mother of Jamie Lee Curtis. She is best remembered for her shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film). Some of her other movies include: Holiday Affair, Touch of Evil, The Manchurian Candidate, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Fog. She passed away in 2004 at the age of 77. Important Added Info: WOW! The color on this image is eye poppingly vivid. Janet Leigh around the time of PSYCHO has to be one the best examples of Leigh in her prime that we have ever come across. This transparency was the one in the camera at the time taken by the photographer and could be printed or scanned huge due to the superb quality. This transparency is being sold for personal use only! No rights given or implied! Note that this the transparency film that was in the camera when the photographer shot the photo (see below for more on this). What is a transparency? They are produced by the studio and are very high quality and were created in quantity and sent to media outlets or other places that had need of the very highest quality image for reproduction purposes (in newspapers, magazines, or elsewhere). A clear border around a 4x5 transparency denotes duplication from a negative source, a black border denotes duplication from a positive source. This transparency is in a plastic sleeve (but we removed it and scanned it, so that bidders could see just how high quality it is). It will be sent to the winner of the auction in the plastic sleeve. Condition: very good to fine. A sterling example of a properly archived transparency. Subtle flaws on edges from general use but overall in remarkable condition considering age and format.
