An Original 1965 Vintage Theatrical Movie 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (released in the U.S. in 1965 as "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg"), the classic 1964 Jacques Demy French/German romantic doomed romance musical ("For all the young lovers of the world"; "A film for all the young lovers of the world"; "In song and color"; "Set to music by Michel Legrand"; a filmed operetta where everyone sings every line) starring Catherine Deneuve, Nino Castelnuovo, Anne Vernon, Marc Michel, Ellen Farner, Mireille Perry, and Harald Wolff. Note that just about everyone agrees this is a wonderful movie. In addition to the fine acting and writing, the voices were dubbed in, and yet it was done so well that most viewers don't realize this at all (and since all the dialog is sung, this means that the actors did not get to say one word!). Important Added Info: Note that the still is glued to a linen-like backing (we think it is highly likely this was a key book still, and that someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the left of the still, no doubt so it could be put in a frame).
