His is best known for being the creator of the Dick Tracy comic strip, writing and drawing it from 1931 to his retirement in 1977. He passed away in 1985 at the age of 84. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Chester Gould with his very distinctive signature, and he also drew a large drawing of Dick Tracy. The signature and drawing are on a piece of Chicago Tribune stationery, and someone (either Gould or the recipient, Chas.
