Artist: Richardson Studio Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this Australian daybill, and the last one was 10 years ago! Note that this is one of an amazing collection of 62 linenbacked Australian daybills that all have great art from Richardson Studio (or John Richardson, before he became "Richardson Studio"!), which many collectors feel have the best art and design of any Australian daybills, and are highly sought after by collectors. These were accumulated by a very dedicated collector over many years, and they are now being all offered at once (in 62 separate auctions), so this is a wonderful opportunity to obtain one or many of these daybills, many of which rarely are offered for sale or at auction. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster originally had a thin top blank border that was neatly trimmed off. It had a 2" vertical tear at top center, slightly affecting three of the letters of the credits. Otherwise, it had minor wear on the folds. It had tiny tears and tiny paper loss in the upper right border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
