eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result V217 CRY WOLF vintage 8x10 still #2 '47 candid of Stanwyck & hubby! Date Sold 5/25/2004Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Cry Wolf, the 1947 Peter Godfrey romantic murder mystery crime suspense thriller ("The Howl in the Night is the Voice of Danger!"; "beLIEve"; "Two against terror... in a mansion of mystery!!"; "From the Novel by Marjorie Carleton"; about a woman who arrives at the creepy house where her recent husband lived, but he has died, and none of his family members knew of his marriage to her, so they are suspicious of her, and she is suspicious of his creepy uncle!) starring Errol Flynn ("His first mis-step will be his last mistake!"), Barbara Stanwyck ("If she weren't so in love she'd be so afraid!"), Geraldine Brooks (billed as "with that rising young Star Geraldine Brooks"), Richard Basehart, Jerome Cowan, and John Ridgely. Note that Errol Flynn had been a top matinee idol from the mid 1930s to the early 1940s, always playing heroic roles, but his career was in a decline, and he tried to reverse that with this very unusual choice of roles, playing a very unsympathetic character! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that on this still there is a printed paper snipe attached to the back describing the scene on the front (the scene is a great candid of Barbara Stanwyck in her dressing room with her then-husband Robert Taylor!). Also note that this still measures 7 3/4" x 9 1/4" Condition: good. This vintage movie publicity still is in lesser condition (what most collectors might call "good"). It has real defects typical of poorly stored photographs that are ten to eighty years old. Note that our small image of the item on this auction page leads to a really HUGE image of this item, so please look at that larger image, as it will certainly greatly help you know exactly what condition this item is in! Many vintage stills pick up "scuff" marks over the years and it is likely that this item has some of them, and they may not be all that apparent from our larger image. Please do not bid on this still unless you can accept the clear defects that it has! Learn More about condition grades
