An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Hollywood Hotel, the 1937 Busby Berkeley Los Angeles California romantic musical comedy ("The Hollywood Hotel Program direct from The Orchid Room of the Air") starring Dick Powell, Rosemary Lane, Hugh Herbert, Ted Healy (most famous as the person who started The Three Stooges; they were first billed as "Ted Healy and his Stooges"; he let them go on their own, hiring replacement "Stooges", but that did not work out well at all!), Benny Goodman ("King of Swing") and his Orchestra, Louella Parsons, Glenda Farrell, Lola Lane, Johnnie Davis, Alan Mowbray, Frances Langford, Jerry Cooper, Ken Niles, Duane Thompson, Raymond Paige and his Orchestra, Mabel Todd, Allyn Joslyn, Edgar Kennedy, and Harry James. Note that there was a real life Hollywood Hotel that was a major Hollywood institution in the 1930s (famous stars would gather there). This movie is set at the real life hotel! It also had a premiere on December 20th before receiving a wide release in January of 1938. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare! The only poster we have EVER sold from this movie was a heavily trimmed window card, and we have never seen or heard of this one-sheet before. Condition: good. The poster is someone fragile and has many pinholes around the edges, with some small tears and tiny paper loss. It had separation, tears, and tiny paper loss in the bottom horizontal fold and a few tears on other foldlines. It had a 4" vertical tear with tiny paper loss in the left of the middle foldline. It had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds. It had a slight extra fold next to the top and bottom quarter of the vertical foldline. It had some faint water staining along the top and bottom horizontal folds, but it is not very noticeable from the front. Someone put a bunch of clear tape repairs on the back of the poster. The poster's defects are the sort that respond well to restoration. After a simple linenbacking, the poster will look great, and it will likely require little paint restoration, and since this is the only example of this poster that we know of, I very much hope the new owner will have quality restoration performed, and display it (perhaps in Hollywood!).
