An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 4 1/2" x 6" [11 x 15 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More)

Corsair, the 1931 Roland West business romantic crime thriller ("Roland West's thrilling production from the Liberty Magazine serial novel by Walton Green"; "Things began to happen when this football hero - became a pirate in flannels!") starring Chester Morris, Thelma Todd (billed as "Alison Loyd"), Fred Kohler, Ned Sparks, Frank McHugh, Mayo Methot, and William Austin. Note that Thelma Todd was billed under her real name when this movie was made in 1931. It was re-released in 1937 by Artcinema, and it they oddly did not bill Todd at all on any of their re-release posters or lobby cards (perhaps because Todd had tragically died in 1935), but she was prominently pictured on the 1937 re-release items.

Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this herald (we auctioned the same example twice before), and that example has now been reconsigned to us, so this is STILL the only example we have ever auctioned!

Note that we were recently consigned an excellent collection of heralds! We auctioned the first 30 of these in our April Major Auction, and all but four of those sold for between $2,012 and $110! Now we continue with another 40 heralds from this collection (in 40 separate auctions), and we will continue auctioning 40 of them every four weeks until they are all auctioned. There is only one of each herald, and many of them are quite rare, so if you don't purchase one, it may be many years before you see it at auction again!

Condition: very good to fine.
