Artist: Drew Struzan Important Added Info: Note that this poster has a VERY unusual history! Our consignor is a man who worked in the movie industry in 1983, and when this movie came out, and the posters were changed from "Revenge" to "Return", our consignor called a friend he had at Lucasfilm and asked him to send him an example of the "Revenge" poster. It was mailed to him on September 2, 1983, from a P.O. box in San Rafael, California. Our consignor asked his friend why it hadn't been mailed direct from Lucasfilm, and his friend told him that "everybody" was asking for those posters, and that they were not supposed to send them! Our consignor saved the original mailing tube, which has the above postmark and return address label, and it will be sent to the winner of this auction along with the poster. Whenever I am consigned one of these posters, I can tell it is authentic by its measurements, but in this case, it has a great additional story behind it! Also note that everyone knows that this movie was ultimately titled "Return of the Jedi", but that it had the original working title of "Revenge of the Jedi". Teaser posters were made with the working title, and they were made in both a dated and undated version. There are many reproductions of both versions, but we have carefully examined this poster, and we are 100% certain that it is an original dated "Revenge of the Jedi" teaser one-sheet (the poster measures exactly 27 1/8" x 41")! Condition: very good to fine. Our consignor stored this poster in the original mailing tube he received it in for the past 25 years, and during that time, it apparently bumped inside the tube, and there are some creases down the right blank border.
