An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) When Worlds Collide, the classic 1951 Rudolph Mate science fiction (sci-fi) doomsday fantasy thriller ("Spectacle never before filmed!"; "Most amazing story that science or fiction ever imagined!"; "Planets Destroy Earth!"; "Giant planet collides with earth!"; "Enormous earthquakes swallow whole continents!"; "Tidal waves flood entire countries!"; "Space ship leaves earth!"; "Based on the famous novel by Edwin Balmer and Philip Wylie"; produced by George Pal, who did the excellent special effects; a highly literate screenplay by Sydney Boehm; this is the sort of movie that proved that science fiction movies did not have to be silly to be critically acclaimed or popular with the public; it is a pity more movies did not follow this wonderful movie's formula!) starring Barbara Rush, Richard Derr, Peter Hanson, John Hoyt, Larry Keating, Frank Cady, and Stephen Chase NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. The poster had small paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds and tiny paper loss at the top crossfold. It had tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss scattered on the vertical foldline between the bottom two crossfolds, with a lesser amount of wear on the rest of the foldlines. It had some minor border wear and some scuffs and faint smudges scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
