An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Africa Speaks!, the 1930 Walter Futter jungle safari wild animal documentary ("The strangest romance ever filmed!"; "Thrilling adventure in the unexplored regions of Equatorial Africa"; "Produced by the Colorado African Expedition, Inc.") featuring Paul Hoefler (who was the man who went to Africa, and who wrote a book of the same name about his experiences), Harald Austin, Charles Gemora (as a gorilla), and narrated by Lowell Thomas. Note that this movie was first released by Columbia Pictures in 1930, but was then re-released by Mascot at some point in the 1930s, and then by Sack Amusements in 1942 (no doubt the movie proved popular in small towns, likely because it contained the obligatory topless native women, that almost all similar movies contained). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fine. This glass slide is in really excellent condition, and we feel that EVERY collector would be happy to own it. It IS possible it may have a MINOR defect or defects, but nothing at all significant. But we bet many dealers would call items in this grade "mint" or "near mint"! Learn More about condition grades
