An Original Vintage Campaign Book (measures 9 1/4" x 12 1/2" [23 x 32 cm]; 36 pages) (Learn More) Industrial Films (Say it with Motion Pictures), the 1920s campaign book created by Fox Studio to encourage businesses to use Fox when creating industry short movies. It is not a traditional "campaign book", in the sense of promoting the studio's upcoming movies, but it is set up just like one. Apparently, William Fox had the idea that since the studio could easily make movies on any subject, they should approach major businesses and offer to create films for them highlighting that business, done far more professionally than the business could ever hope to do themselves! The book gives suggested business types for which they could make films, and they give some examples of such "industrial" films they have already made, with lots of illustrations. We wonder if this idea ever had much success or for how long it continued, or if perhaps Fox abandoned it, either due to lack of interest by businesses, or their unwillingness to pay enough to make the venture successful. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this unusual campaign book! Condition: very good. The book has an added glassine cover that has some tears and paper loss around the edges. Otherwise the book is in nice condition (see our many images). Learn More about condition grades
