Now it's all magnificently on the screen... romantically... gloriously!"; "Produced by George Jessel"; "Dances Staged by Seymour Felix"; "New Songs - Lyrics by Mack Gordon"; "Music by James Monaco"; filmed in 3-strip Technicolor; very loosely based on the lives of two Hungarian sisters, Jenny and Rosie Dolly, who became famous entertainers in the early 1900s) starring Betty Grable (in the title role as Yansci 'Jenny' Dolly), John Payne, June Haver (in the title role as Roszika 'Rosie' Dolly), S.Z. Sakall, Reginald Gardiner, Frank Latimore, Gene Sheldon, Sig Ruman, and Trudy Marshall. Note that Alice Faye was originally cast as Betty Grable's sister, but Faye wanted to stop doing musicals, and June Haver was cast instead. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of many foldlines. There were creases, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was not that well backed onto a linen backing with no excess, and the restoration of the above defects is somewhat noticeable. In addition, at some point after it was backed, the poster began to lift from the edges of the linen in several places, and in the bottom right corner, some pieces of the border tore off and are no longer present. If I owned this poster, I would likely have it removed from the old linen and properly re-backed. In any event, bear the above defects in mind before placing a bid! Learn More about condition grades
