An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Anna Karenina, the 1935 Clarence Brown Russia romantic marriage melodrama (based on the novel by Leo Tolstoy; produced by David O. Selznick) starring Greta Garbo (in the title role as Anna Karenina), Fredric March (as Vronsky), Freddie Bartholomew ("[David Copperfield]"), Maureen O'Sullivan, Basil Rathbone, Reginald Denny, and Mischa Auer. Note that this had been one of Greta Garbo's biggest hits in 1927 when it was titled "Love", as a silent movie, and she remade it in 1935, replacing John Gilbert with Fredric March.

Important Added Info: Note that first release lobby cards from this movie are incredibly rare! We have never auctioned a first release lobby card from this movie until we were consigned this great scene card, which has a wonderful close up of the two top stars! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good. The card was clearly in excellent condition with only a tiny crease in the right of the top blank border and a faint scuff mark in the lower right of the image. It was framed and displayed, and during that time, the reds and the yellows of the card faded considerably. It did not affect the title and credits above it that much, but the yellows and reds in the rest of the card are very "muted", and this is extremely apparent when you compare this card to an unfaded example. The card still displays well, but bear this considerable fading in mind before bidding on this card (and remember that other than the fading it was in both excellent condition and never had any restoration).
