An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More)

Arthur O'Connell was an actor from the 1930s to the 1970s. He was one of those people who "looked old" even when he was young, so he was born to be a character actor. He worked in Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre in the 1930s and had a tiny part in the final scene of Citizen Kane. But he didn't have much success at all in movies, and in 1950, he moved to New York City and appeared in many TV shows. But in the mid 1950s, when his career really took off with some great roles in major movies! In the 1960s, he returned to New York and appeared in many more TV shows. Some of his movies include: Anatomy Of A Murder (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Force of Evil, The Naked City, Follow That Dream, and Picnic (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film). He passed away in 1981 at the age of 73.
