A Medal For Benny, the 1945 Irving Pichel World War II (WWII) small town war hero melodrama ("From the Story by John Steinbeck and Jack Wagner"; an odd story of a man who is looked down upon in his home town, and he enlists in the army, but when he is about to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, suddenly all the townsfolk who scorned him earlier now treat him like they always loved him) starring Dorothy Lamour, Arturo de Cordova, J. Carrol Naish (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Mikhail Rasumny, Fernando Alvarado, and Frank McHugh

Important Added Info: Note that this script is the revised white draft from June 6, 1944 and the screenplay was written by Frank Butler. It has a lot of blue revision pages from 6-12-44, 6-26-44, and 7-13-44. It is in a presentation box that is the exact size of the script, but we feel certain that the box was created much later, surely by a collector who wanted to present it well. The spine of the box has a small label glued to it that reads "Steinbeck, John, A Medal for Benny, Film Script by Frank Butler".

Condition: good to very good. It has a piece of paper taped to the front and back of the script, and the tape has yellowed (the paper was taped there so that the title could be written on the spine of the script). There are creases on the first and last pages and a small circular stain in the middle right of the first page. See our multiple images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this script.
