A Linenbacked French Special Poster (measures 28 1/4" x 38 1/4" [72 x 97 cm]) (Learn More)

Charles Martin was a French artist and illustrator from the 1910s the 1930s. His illustrated books include Les Modes en 1912, Mascarades et Amusettes and Sports et divertissements. He passed away in 1934 at the age of 50.
Artist: Charles Martin
Important Added Info: Note that we have seen another example of this poster advertised on the Internet, and that one has a printed French title at the top ("L'art de boire le vin", which translates to "The Art of Drinking Wine") and French tagline across the bottom. This poster is blank in those areas. We don't know if it was intentionally created that way as a sort of export poster (allowing countries to overprint in the title in their own language), or if it is a test poster, or if there is another explanation. Also note that while these images were created in the 1920s for a magazine ad, this poster was created much later, probably in the early 1970s. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the many uncertainties about its origin
