An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Conspirator, the 1949 Victor Saville English London Cold War romantic spy espionage crime thriller ("The man she loved was a traitor, sworn to kill her!"; "Based on the Novel by Humphrey Slater"; about a beautiful young woman who marries a much older British Army officer who turns out to be a Russian spy) starring Robert Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, Robert Flemyng, Harold Warrender, Honor Blackman, and Marjorie Fielding. Note that the plot of this movie revolves around 17 year-old Elizabeth Taylor falling in love with 38 year-old Robert Taylor, which seems pretty creepy now (and may well have been pretty creepy then!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss and a stain at the top crossfold, and minor wear on the foldlines. It had pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above (a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
