Societe Philanthropique L'Union Du Commerce (literally translates to "Philanthropic Society - The Union of Commerce"), the 1897 French poster promoting a benefit charity event to raise money for the relief and retirement pension funds. The event featured music and stage performances and it took place at the Theatre De la Gaite in Paris, France. Other information on the poster mentions when the society was founded (May 7th, 1847), current members (17,050) and ticket prices. Note that this poster features Georges Meunier artwork of a woman holding a caduceus and welcoming two men.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and a few tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds and some pinholes around the edges. It had some faint smudges and stains scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
