An Original Vintage Linenbacked Circus Poster (measures 27 1/2" x 41") (Learn More) Seils Sterling Circus, the circa early 1930s circus poster used to advertise the Seils Sterling Circus ("'The Show of a Thousand Wonders'"; "Big 4 Ring"; "The Show of A Century"). The poster features a great stone litho artwork image of lions jumping through rings, acrobats, elephants, and more! Our quick research of this circus indicates it was in existence from 1927 to 1938, and this poster seems to surely date from the early 1930s or earlier, based on the printing and paper quality. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was never folded and it appears that it was in pretty nice condition prior to being linenbacked. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed onto a thin linen, and has been handled roughly since that time, and there are now many creases and some tears around the edges of the poster. If I owned this really cool poster, I would surely have it removed from the thin linen and properly backed, and it would look wonderful! Learn More about condition grades
