Note that this movie was filmed in 1946, but was held back so as to not interfere with the major delayed 1946 release of "The Outlaw", co-directed by Howard Hawks (although Howard Hughes took all the credit!). It was intended to be Montgomery Clift's first movie, but this delay caused it to be released after "The Search", making it his second movie. Also, Clift and Wayne had very differing political views, and did not take to each other at all, but that likely helped the movie, since their characters were at odds with each other through almost the entire movie. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, and some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds. It had some tears and paper loss in the top center, in the 4" to the right of the vertical fold and in the area between the top of the poster and the top horizontal fold. It had pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
