eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result DANGEROUS 1sh '35 Lease from Hershenson/Allen ArchiveAn Original Vintage One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh) (Learn More) Dangerous, the 1935 Alfred Green alcoholic theater stage actress romantic love triangle melodrama ("The story of a girl that men regret!"; about an alcoholic washed up former star who meets a young architect, and he inspires her to pull herself together and she does so, but he becomes romantically involved with a beautiful younger woman, which causes her to self-destruct) starring Bette Davis (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Franchot Tone, Margaret Lindsay, Allison Skipworth, John Eldredge, and Dick Foran. Note that Bette Davis gave her usual wonderful performance in this movie (it seems likely her character was based on Jeanne Eagels), but few people consider it to be a classic. Bette Davis won the Academy Award for Best Actress for this movie, but it seems likely that this was just because she had been denied the award the previous year for perhaps her best performance ever, as Mildred in "Of Human Bondage"!
