An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Chapter #15 (The Woman In Black) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) King of the Circus, the 1920 J.P. McGowan Universal silent circus adventure serial ("Oh, Boy! What A Thriller!!"; "The Greatest Serial of All Time"; "It's a Universal!") starring Eddie Polo, Corrine Porter, Kittoria Beveridge, Harry Madison, Charles Fortune, and J.P. McGowan. Note that oddly we could not find anything about this serial, beyond the cast. The rare one-sheets we have auctioned have great images, both with circus themes and with underwater chase scenes, so we would love to know more about this serial. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this is a "lost" serial film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that until 2020 we had never auctioned a poster from this serial. At that time we were consigned three chapter one-sheets. We auctioned those, and they sold for $975, $765, and $1,850 (all of those three posters were from different chapters with completely different images). Since that time our consignor sent us a total of seven more of these one-sheets (again, all from different chapters, and we have auctioned five of them, and now we are offering the six one, and all the posters we have auctioned are from different chapters and have wonderful different images!). We have auctioned one of each example, and for all we know, they may be the only surviving examples of each of these posters. Condition: very good. The poster has 2" of separation at the bottom crossfold with small separation at the other two crossfolds and tiny paper loss at each. It has 2" of separation at the left edge of the bottom fold. The poster has two extra light vertical folds 2" and 3" to the left of the regular one. It has pretty minor fold and border wear. After a simple linenbacking, the poster will display well.
